More Details
We also participate in and plan numerous health fairs at various locations throughout the community. We offer free health screenings for glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol and body fat composition. Referrals are also made to the health providers as needed. Health information and literature is disseminated at all of our events. We also give away incentive items to the community to promote better health. We work with other agencies that provide information regarding their services and/or screenings such as vision and hearing screenings and body mass index.

We coordinate the Charles A. Smith Wellness Program for the employees of the City. Workshops on numerous topics are provided along with the screenings and literature. This program serves to provide education to encourage prevention and improve well being.

We also coordinate activities with the City's HIV program, the W.I.C. (Women, Infant and Children's) Program and the Environmental Health Division.

In addition, we are involved in the following:
•Emergency Preparedness
•UMDNJ Medical Student Interns
•Blood Drive/Bone Marrow Donor Registry
